The next step to becoming a Future Roadrunner is to sign up for Orientation. Orientation is offered for the fall, spring, and summer semester and it is required for all incoming freshmen and transfer students. Orientation gives students the opportunity to learn how to register for classes, learn about UTSA’s student support services and much more. Now that Orientation is taking place online for Summer 2020 and Fall 2020, we know that it can get confusing to sign up and complete Orientation, but here are some FAQs to help you navigate the process.

Yes, you can complete orientation before your Rowdy Ready
requirements are complete. The online orientation is now available, and you can access it at any time.
You can review your orientation confirmation page on ASAP
to find instructions on how to access the online orientation. The program will consist of viewing 7 modules and passing a final quiz with a 90% or better. Orientation is not live and can be completed whenever you would like.
The Online Orientation takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.
No, the program is designed to be completed at your own pace. You can access the online orientation at any time. We recommend that you complete it as soon as possible in order to move to the next steps of Academic Advising and registration.
Summer Term: Although you have until early July to complete orientation, we highly recommend you complete the online orientation soon. Once your orientation is complete, your Academic Advisor will be contacting you within 3 weeks to set-up a virtual advising appointment. The last date to register for summer classes is July 6.
Fall Term: Although you have until Late August to complete orientation, we highly recommend you complete the online orientation soon. Once your orientation is complete, your Academic Advisor will be contacting you within 3 weeks to set-up a virtual advising appointment. The last day to register for fall classes is September 1.
No, the online orientation fee is $65. The online orientation fee gets added to your Tuition and Fees bill upon sign up. You are not required to pay for the fee right away, however, it will be included in your tuition and fees bill payment deadline. The fee is non-refundable.
No, the online orientation is now available and you can access it at any time. If you were signed up for the in-person orientation, you have now been moved to the online orientation.
No, please note that the pre-payment fee made to reserve the in-person orientation has been applied to the online orientation fee.
You will be able to register for classes once your orientation and advising appointment are complete. During your virtual advising appointment, you be advised for summer and/or fall classes as applicable along with an overview of how to register for classes.
