This summer, the Student Union is collaborating with several UTSA departments and groups, including the Racial Justice Book Club, to host a summer read. The book we’ve selected is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. This powerful young adult novel grapples with racism, activism, and identity. We think this novel will resonate with our students and our hope is that it will create space for meaningful dialogue related to racial justice.
The Racial Justice Book Club will meet weekly to discuss the book for five weeks starting Wednesday, July 7th at 2pm. The weekly discussions are open to all UTSA students, faculty, and staff. Each week will focus on a different theme related to the book.
