Academic Advisor Appointment
If you’re an incoming freshmen or transfer, you are required to meet with your Academic Advisor before you can register for classes.
Students attending an in-person Orientation will meet with their Academic Advisor during Orientation. For students taking Online Orientation, you will need to make an appointment with your Academic Advisor before you can register for classes.
Who is my academic advisor?
Academic advisors are assigned based on your academic major. Your academic advisor is listed in your ASAP account. If no assigned advisor is listed, students may contact the advising center in which their defined major is advised according to ASAP.
- Log into ASAP.
- On the Main Menu select Student Services.
- Under Student Services select Advisor Contact Information.
- Select your Term and click on List Advisors.
- Your designated advisor will be listed.
When can I meet with my advisor?
The first time you meet with your academic advisor is during Orientation. Students taking Online Orientation will need reach out to their UTSA Academic Advisor and make an appointment. After that, you’ll have instances during your time at UTSA, such as after completing 45 and 90 credit hours, when you’ll be required to meet with your advisor. You can also set up appointments with your advisor any time you want to discuss your classes and academic progress.
