Get to Know Ellianna
Having an interest in hospitality, Ellianna Feeney knew that the path to success couldn’t be found only in a classroom. She wanted a university where she could find opportunities for hands-on experience. Her choice to enroll at UT San Antonio as a multidisciplinary studies major with a focus on hospitality and event management allowed her to find those opportunities.
Hands-On Learning
With San Antonio’s rich culture, tourism draw and community events, Ellianna easily found the chances for professional development she was searching for through UT San Antonio. She was able to participate in a two-semester course in which UT San Antonio partnered with the San Antonio Local Organizing Committee to assist with the 2025 Men’s Final Four event. Through this course, Ellianna gained leadership skills as she directed other volunteers and helped to host events.
Professional Experience
Ellianna’s internship at the Embassy Suites San Antonio Landmark Hotel showed her another side of the hospitality industry in the city. The experience allowed her to rotate through each department to fully understand how a hotel operates. After her internship concluded, she began to work at the hotel part-time, acquiring even more real-world experience, giving her a head start on her career.
