“Being a Roadrunner for life has heightened my passion for helping people …”
Meet Erica
A big part of the environment at this university is togetherness. It’s evident in the atmosphere of the campus, and with more than 350 student-led organizations, there is definitely a place to find yourself and have fun with friends who will accept you for you.
As a Spirit of the Roadrunner recipient, I have been able to amplify my platform which focuses on wellness. This truly has heightened my passion for helping people and raised my awareness of my drive and people skills. I have collaborated with Wellbeing Services to support students’ health and wellbeing with the goal of helping students build skills in the eight dimensions of wellbeing to promote student success. And as a senator in the Student Government Association and member of the President’s Student Advisory Council, I have been able to strengthen connections by providing a means for student expression, diverse insights into the student experience at UTSA, and assistance in school affairs and activities.
Throughout my academic career, I have accumulated over 200 volunteer hours. I enjoy the experiences gained from community involvement because I believe one of my life purposes is to help people.
Representing the University of Texas at San Antonio on The College Tour has been phenomenal because I’ve been able to develop community intelligence by sharing my well-being message.
