What You'll Study
All students pursuing a certificate in Athletic Coaching must complete 15 semester credit hours.
• Theory of Coaching*
• Coaching Leadership
• Scientific Principles of Strength and Conditioning**
• Coaching Methods
• Athletic Coaching Practicum***
* Ideally your first course in the program
** Can be substituted with Instruction of Sports Activities and Games for students who are not in the Kinesiology major.
*** Last course in the program requires 150h of practicum experience

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and looking to enhance your degree with an undergraduate certificate? Students may take any of the coaching certificate courses except the Athletic Coaching Practicum without prior approval. Enrollment in the Athletic Coaching Practicum requires the successful completion of all other certificate courses* and approval from the Certificate Program Advisor.
*Concurrent registration of one of the coaching/support courses with the practicum may be permitted with instructor approval.
