Get to Know Eduardo
Eduardo Garcia found all the tools he needed to succeed at UT San Antonio. He walked the commencement stage with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a full-time position at Honda.

Becoming a Roadrunner
After getting his first bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from another university, Eduardo couldn’t help but feel like something was missing. Luckily, UT San Antonio helped him find that something when he came to the university to study mechanical engineering.
Getting Career Ready
During his time at UT San Antonio, Eduardo had multiple internships that provided professional development and helped prepare him for his future engineering career. He was a 2021 Mickey Leland Energy Fellow with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management, which familiarized him with the country’s crude oil storage facility and logical systems. He spent two consecutive summers interning at Honda Motor Co. as an infotainment development specialist, an experience that paved the way for a full-time position with the company. Beyond his technical pursuits, he remained actively engaged on campus, serving as both vice president and later president of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.
