Get to Know Josh
Josh graduated from UTSA in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. As an undergraduate student, Josh participated in exciting research that inspired him to pursue further scientific studies.
Finding Open Doors to Discovery
Josh quickly connected with UTSA’s research opportunities, which have led to UTSA’s designation as a Tier One research university. After being awarded a research scholarship his freshman year, Josh was able to grow his skills in the classroom and in hands-on settings.
Saving Lives Through Research
As an undergraduate, Josh took part in research through the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design to develop medical technology. The research he conducted at UTSA revolved around developing a cardiovascular biosensor, which would allow for the detection of heart attacks before they occur. As a first-generation Hispanic student, Josh’s participation in this research powerfully influenced his future to pursue graduate studies.
Empowered to Keep Achieving
Since graduating, Josh has decided to continue changing the world by pursuing his PhD in medical and electrical engineering. This Roadrunner has a passion to make a difference, and his future is bold.
