Get to Know Rhett
Rhett Whiting came to UT San Antonio to learn the skills to bring his creative ideas to life, and he didn’t just learn; he excelled through achievements like making the Dean’s List three times. With a bachelor’s in marketing, Rhett graduated with not only marketable skills, but the confidence to pursue the career he wanted.


Academic Opportunities
Rhett’s choice to major in marketing came from his desire to express his creativity, and he was able to do just that both in and out of the classroom at UT San Antonio. Professor Gratereaux’s courses offered hands-on, real-world experience that helped students like Rhett strengthen their resumes and build portfolios essential for success in digital and social media marketing.
Getting Career Ready
Outside of class, Rhett participated in an internship with a software startup company, giving him direct experience with B2B marketing. He also worked as a student assistant with the Alvarez Marketing and Communication office. This internship allowed him to engage in the creative process of marketing through things like interviewing students. With these experiences, Rhett crossed the stage fully prepared to meet his career goal of landing a job in digital and social media marketing.
