Get to Know Tyler
Tyler Newman is a UT San Antonio graduate with a master’s degree in finance and a bright future ahead of him. With hard work and the support of the university, Tyler was able to leave the workforce to further his education and pursue a career better suited for him.
The Path to Success
Tyler’s decision to leave the workforce and pursue a master’s degree wasn’t an easy one. It was a path with many challenges, but UT San Antonio’s resources were more than enough to equip him with the tools to succeed. Aside from the support he received from faculty and peers, resources like the Roadrunner Pantry helped him get by when money was tight, and the university’s counseling services were a big help when he encountered tough times in his personal life.
Looking Forward
Tyler excelled in the classroom, and deeply values the knowledge he learned in the finance program. That knowledge helped him tackle the CFA exam and land a full-time job before graduation. He was hired as a bank examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Tyler considers himself grateful and proud to be a UT San Antonio alumni.
