G-Force Mentors is a student work-study initiative established at UT San Antonio within the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s Work Study Mentorship Program. The program focuses on improving students’ access to, success in, and completion of higher education.
Helping Students and Families
Through collaborative programming, G-Force Mentors reach over 20,000 students and their families annually, inspiring them to think about their future and the importance of pursuing higher education. G-Force Mentors actively advocate for the value of college, engaging with the San Antonio community through a variety of UT San Antonio recruitment and outreach events.
Inspiring the Next Generation
G-Force Mentors are trained student leaders who support a variety of college and career readiness initiatives hosted by Community Outreach. They provide campus tours and provide K-8 students with an authentic, firsthand look at life at UT San Antonio. G-Force Mentors also assist with college and career exploration events, deliver presentations at local schools, and present the university at college and career fairs throughout the community. Through these outreach efforts, they help students learn about higher education opportunities, explore future pathways, and envision themselves as successful college students.
