How to Submit Documents to UTSA

We’re excited that you’re interested in applying to UTSA and understand that there’s a lot to turn in for your application! Here’s a list of the commonly required items and how you can get them to us.

You can check ASAP, UTSA’s online student portal, to see all the remaining items that are required to complete your admissions file. If you have any questions about UTSA or the application process, feel free to contact the admission counselor for your area.

Submitting Documents

Admissions Application

Of course the first thing we’ll need is your application! We receive your admission application from one of three admission applications. For step-by-step instructions, visit our apply page. Please remember to submit only one application per term. If you have any questions, our admission counselors are only a phone call or email away!

Application Fee / Fee Waiver

You can pay the $70 application fee with a credit card on your ApplyTexas or Common App application or through a check or money order, or submit a fee waiver if applicable.

  • Online Payment – If you decide to pay via credit card after you submit your application, you may pay via credit card online through ASAP using your myUTSA Account ID and Passphrase. Log into and click the “Future Roadrunner” tab, then click “Check your Admission Status” and scroll to the bottom for the payment button.
  • Check or Money Order – You can pay your fee either by check or money order made out to The University of Texas at San Antonio and mailed to The Undergraduate Admission Office, UTSA, One UTSA Circle, San Antonio, Texas 78249. Include the applicant’s full name and date of birth.
  • Fee Waiver – UTSA accepts fee waivers for first-time freshmen only. A student applying as a first-time freshman must use the Fee Waivers provided by either the ACT or SAT and submit supporting documents. All documents should be completed in their entirety.

Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR)

The Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR) is a tool that allows applicants to self-report their courses, grades, class rank, and other academic information. Beginning Fall 2022, UTSA is requiring first-time freshmen applicants to submit a Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR) instead of an official sixth-semester high school transcript.


At this time, we recommend transcripts be sent electronically (see instructions below).  If you are a freshman and your school is experiencing an issue sending transcripts, please reach out to your high school counselor and have them submit a copy of your transcript to

Electronically: Ask your school to send your official transcript to UTSA through either TREx or SPEEDE. TREx is preferred for high school transcripts and SPEEDE is preferred for college transcripts. Electronic Parchment, E-Script PDF  and Naviance transcripts can be sent to

If your high school or institution prefers mailing transcripts, please send an official, sealed copy of your transcript to:

If you’ve received dual college credits, please submit the official college transcripts (not required for a decision).

Test Scores

Submit your test scores directly from the testing agency. Freshmen must take either the SAT or the ACT to be considered for admission.

  • SAT – Send your scores to UTSA using the school code 6919. Instructions on how to send your SAT scores can be found on the Collegeboard website.
  • ACT – Send your scores to UTSA using the school code 4239. Instructions on how to send your ACT scores can be found on the ACT website.
  • TOEFL/IELTS – International students must submit their scores through the testing agency. Instructions on how to send your these scores can be found on the TOEFL website and IELTS website.

Recommendation Letters / Essay

Along with your ApplyTexas Application or Common Application, applicants are encouraged to submit at least one essay and two letters of recommendation.

International Documents

For international students – each country requires specific documentation when applying to UTSA and all submitted documents must be translated into English.

  • Documentation by Country

  • International Transfers – Submit your official transcript(s) from each college or university you have attended and submit a foreign credential evaluation for any foreign college or university transcripts. We recommend Foreign Credential Services of America (FCSA), but you can submit a credential evaluation from any evaluators on the NACES website. Please note, UTSA accepts credit only from recognized accredited academic institutions.
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores – Scores must be sent directly from the testing agency. Instructions on how to send your these scores can be found on the TOEFL website and IELTS website.
