What is the Honors College?

This is the UTSA Honors College, home to roughly 2,000 committed, curious and academically driven students from across all majors and disciplines, including UTSA Top ScholarsTerry Scholars®, and many of the university’s nationally award-winning students.

Students have the flexibility to graduate with honors without adding significant additional coursework or delaying graduation. Honors Experiences provide students with skill-building, career development and personal growth.

Honors Residential College

Live in the Honors Residential College

Guadalupe Hall is the residential home of the Honors College. As a residential college, all first-year students in the Honors College live and learn together in a supportive community designed to help them succeed. Bonus: all residential students receive a scholarship to offset on-campus housing costs.

Your Education Covered with Our Scholar Programs

The Honors College is home to two scholar groups, the Top Scholar and Terry Scholar® programs. These programs are designed for high-caliber students interested in academics, service, and leadership. Our students are routinely making an impact at the state and national levels. These scholarships last for 4 years, covering tuition and board, and have the additional benefit of scholars working closely together in cohorts of talented students.

The application deadline for these programs is December 1, 2023, so don’t wait to apply!

Top Scholars

A tailored, comprehensive merit scholar program for academically driven students who want to develop into exceptional servant leaders. Top Scholars receive a last dollar scholarship covering full tuition, fees, housing, meals, and additional experiences.

Designed for students with a distinguished record of leadership and a deep-rooted desire to enrich the general welfare of their community. Recipients of the Terry Scholarship receive funds to cover the cost of learning and living at UTSA.
