Why Pursue a Graduate Certificate in Integrated Behavioral Healthcare

The Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (IBH) certificate offers counseling students valuable training in integrated and interprofessional healthcare delivery. This 12-credit hour graduate certificate includes four courses: two didactic courses covering IBH models, common chronic health conditions, and brief interventions, plus two clinical internship rotations. These credits can be applied toward elective and internship coursework in students’ existing degree plans. This program complements student coursework in the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, MEd in School Counseling and PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision programs.

The graduate certificate will also be noted on your conferred degree, highlighting your specialized skills and knowledge.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must be currently enrolled in the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, MEd in School Counseling or PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision program at UTSA and should submit the UTSA Graduate Certificate Form to add a certificate to their current program.

Students are admitted through a competitive application process, with applications typically opening in the spring semester. Eligible students should prepare for internships in the following fall and spring semesters.
