Get to Know Dalen
Dalen Ricks fell in love with computers at an early age, and his interest only grew with time, eventually bringing him to UT San Antonio to study electrical engineering. In order to better understand the field of computer architecture, Dalen also earned a certificate in computer programming for engineers while at the university.

Becoming a Roadrunner
Dalen was drawn to UT San Antonio for its innovative engineering program. The Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design prides itself on a hands-on approach to learning, making it a great choice for an aspiring computer architect like Dalen.

Hands-on Learning
As an engineering student, Dalen got plenty of opportunities to take the hands-on approach to his studies. He was able to use the Makerspace, an innovative workspace located at UT San Antonio’s main campus. At the Makerspace, students can engage in technical projects and use a variety of equipment and facilities they otherwise wouldn’t have access to such as a fully equipped machine shop, 3D printers, welding stations and more! Dalen’s experience in research labs was also a highlight of his college career.
