Get to Know Farah

From becoming a doctor, a lawyer or President of the United States, Farah Hamed has always had big ambitions. No matter how those aspirations evolved over the years, her plan to attend college never changed. When she first got to UT San Antonio, she felt right at home and knew she’d made the right decision. The university helped her thrive and find her true passion, and she eventually chose to double major in finance and management.

Getting Involved

During freshman orientation, the biggest piece of advice Farah received was to get involved on campus. At first, she ignored this advice, but after more urging from her assigned peer mentor, she eventually joined a student organization, which opened her eyes to just how fun and fulfilling campus involvement can be.

Fostering Community

Farah didn’t stop at joining one organization. Her excitement for getting involved led her to join several. Participating in things like Student Government, academic organizations, spirit committee and more helped Farah feel better connected to the university’s community. Her involvement not only provided her with a sense of community and personal achievement, but it also helped her network in the professional world and even helped land her two internships. Farah is a shining example of the wealth of experiences you can have at UT San Antonio simply by getting involved.
