Get to Know Jessh
Jessh Mondesir graduated first from UT San Antonio with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, then again with a master’s degree in health and kinesiology(now the MS in Kinesiology). His experiences at UT San Antonio inspired him to continue his education and find the right career path for him.
Becoming a Roadrunner
After fleeing the war-torn Republic of Congo with his family, Jessh Mondesir remembers always feeling like the new kid. He moved from Republic of Congo to Gabon, then to San Diego, and finally Austin. Coming to UT San Antonio for his undergraduate degree in kinesiology gave Jessh a sense of a “home away from home.” He ended up staying with the university to pursue a master’s degree in health and kinesiology with a graduate certificate in health.
Engaging in Research
Jessh discovered his path after graduation through research at UT San Antonio. He participated in multiple research opportunities during his graduate studies like studying the effects of Qigong, and a study that promoted physical activity among preschoolers. These studies ignited his passion for helping people and promoting general health and wellness. He plans to continue his research and studies by pursuing a doctorate degree in public health or physical therapy.
