UTSA’s Mathematics of Data and Computing Program

Mathematics of Data and Computing (MDC) is offered jointly by the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Computer Science at UTSA. Students in the MDC program will gain a solid foundation in theoretical mathematics and learn the fundamentals of computation and data analysis as well as core topics in computer science. By choosing appropriate elective courses, the program allows enough flexibility for students to specialize in the areas of data science, cryptography, or logic and the theory of computability. The MDC program is designed to prepare students for industries related to computational science, education, computers, insurance, business, banking, and finance.
