The UTSA orientation fee supports the staffing, programming and technical costs of producing a quality orientation for our new students. Orientation provides information about UTSA’s academic requirements, campus services and resources, and peer support from our Orientation Leaders. Please note that orientation is not supported through tuition dollars and your orientation fee must be paid at the time of Orientation Sign Up.

Orientation Payment
When you sign up for Orientation, you will be asked to pay your non-refundable orientation fee by credit card in order to confirm your orientation. Once registration is complete, a confirmation page will appear indicating your confirmed reservation and your non-refundable payment information.
Fee Deferrals
There is no waiver for the orientation fee. While orientation fees may be deferred to a later date, the costs are not waived. PELL-eligible students (as determined by their FASFA submission) will have an option to defer their orientation fee at the time of Orientation Sign Up, in lieu of a credit card payment. Please note by deferring this fee, the fee will be applied to your student tuition & fee bill even if the student decides not to attend UTSA.
Students who have extenuating circumstances can submit a request to defer the orientation fee by emailing orientation@utsa.edu and describing his or her situation on why a deferment is needed. Requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. Please allow 3-5 business days for the staff from Orientation and Family Programs to review your requests. The decision will be sent via email once it has been made. Please note all new students are responsible for any outstanding orientation charges.
